OUR STORY

Jernick Moving and Storage has been serving Greenport, NY, and the surrounding areas for over 60 years. Our founder, Thomas L. Jernick, started the business in the early 1950s as a farming and transportation business for vegetables. Soon, residents of Shelter Island started asking him to bring pieces of furniture back from New York City to Shelter Island. That's how our moving business was born.

Over the years, our company has grown to become a trusted provider of local moving services, from moving a single piece of furniture to an entire household or company across the street. Our services include local and long distance moves, free estimates, full-service packing and unpacking, one-piece or entire house moving, piano moving, art and antiques, blanket-wrapped services, and complete storage services.

Our family-run business has a rich history and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. After Thomas L. Jernick passed away in 1983, his children Richard, Bruce, and Linda managed the business until its sale in 2008. Fortunately, the business remains in the family, now run by Thomas's grandsons Richard and Scott and Scott's brother-in-law, Thomas Mysliborski. Our team is dedicated to making your move as stress-free as possible and treating your belongings with the utmost care and respect.

We take pride in being good neighbors and community members. We donate our time and trucks to several agencies throughout the year, including CAST, the North Fork Chamber of Commerce, the historical societies, and other community organizations. In 2018, we received the Community Service award from the North Fork Chamber of Commerce for our contributions.
